Israel. Check in to our hotel. We enjoy a welcome dinner together this evening
as we begin our journey through this land holy to so many people. Overnight in
Haifa. Day 3, Tuesday, April 24, 2012: THE JORDAN
VALLEY Breakfast. We begin the day with a walk down the hanging
Persian gardens of the Bahai World Center. We visit the Shrine here on Mt.
Carmel's sculpted hillside. We depart Haifa for Daliyat Al-Carmel, a Druze-Arab
village, where we are hosted for lunch in a traditional Druze-Arab home, and are
treated to a discussion with residents about life in Israel from a unique
perspective. Next we travel to Meggido, site of biblical Armageddon. The
fortress is still undergoing excavation and archeologists have so far uncovered
layers from 25 distinct periods. There are towns and fortifications dating from
4000 BC. We also stop at Tzippori, to see the unique mosaic known as the Mona
Lisa of the Galilee. Continue on to our Kibbutz. After dinner, we sit with

perish by their own hands rather than surrender. Our tour continues to the
shores of the Dead Sea. We have time to loll in the "unsinkable" water, cover
