Day
1, Thursday:
We
depart New York on our overnight flight to Budapest.
Day
2, Friday: Upon
our arrival to Budapest, we transfer to our hotel.
Situated on the opposite banks of the Danube River,
the former cities of Buda and Pest are linked
by a series of graceful bridges. Time permitting,
we will enjoy a walking orientation tour. This
evening we may attend an optional service at the
Dohany Synagogue, the largest in Europe, followed
by a Welcome Shabbat dinner at our hotel. Overnight
in Budapest
Day
3, Saturday: Day at leisure. We invite
you to attend optional Shabbat services. This
afternoon we may choose to enjoy an optional tour
to the Artists' Village at Szentendre. We will
see a lovely museum dedicated to the famous Jewish
Hungarian ceramics artist Margit Kovacs. Overnight
in Budapest.
Day
4, Sunday: Full
day tour of Budapest, including Jewish heritage
sites. Visit the Jewish Museum at the Dohany Synagogue,
and Raul Wallenberg Memorial. We also see the
Parliament, the Royal Palace, Castle Hill area,
Fisherman's Bastion, Coronation Church, Hero's
Square and the Gellert Hill. In the evening we
enjoy a sunset cruise on the Danube. Overnight
in Budapest.
Day
5, Monday: This
morning we celebrate the Bar/Bat Mitzvah of our
children with a special ceremony at the ancient
Synagogue, located within the Hilton Hotel in
Budapest. Later this afternoon we enjoy a gala
dinner in a local restaurant, including Gypsy
music and dancers. Overnight in Budapest.
Day
6, Tuesday: After
breakfast, we depart for Vienna, enjoying the
lovely scenery on the way. Upon arrival we enjoy
a half day city tour including an interior visit
to the Schonbrunn Palace. This evening we enjoy
dinner with music in Grinzing Village, just outside
Vienna. Overnight in Vienna.
Day
7, Wednesday:
This morning we enjoy a Jewish Heritage tour of
Vienna including Juden-platz, Jewish Community
Center, New Jewish Museum at Palace Eskels. The
remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight
in Vienna.
Day
8, Thursday: After breakfast, we depart
from Vienna on our way to Prague. Upon arrival
into Golden Prague, we enjoy a Jewish Heritage
tour, including the Old City, called the Josefov,
Prague's Jewish town with its Old Town Hall, the
Alt-Neu Synagogue, the Pinkas Synagogue, the Jewish
Cemetery and the State Jewish Museum. Overnight
in Prague.
Day
9, Friday: We depart Prague for Terezin,
called the Nazi "Model Concentration Camp."
We see the small fortress and the recently discovered
Holocaust era secret synagogue of the Danish Jews.
This evening we enjoy Shabbat dinner together
at the hotel. Overnight in Prague.
Day
10, Saturday: This morning we will
have a half day walking tour of the Old City in
Prague where we will be able to visit Prague's
lovely squares. We will see the famous Astronomical
Clock and stroll along the Charles Bridge. The
remainder of the day is at leisure. Tonight we
enjoy a special farewell dinner at a local Prague
restaurant. Overnight in Prague
Day
11, Sunday:
Transfer to the airport for our flight back to
New York.
