Day 1, Sunday: We depart New York on our overnight flight to Prague. Day 2, Monday: We arrive in Prague and are met by our tour escort and bus driver and are transferred to our hotel. After we check in, we enjoy a special orientation tour of Golden Prague, including the 1,000 year old Hradcany Castle, the Astronomical Clock and other sights of interest. Tonight we enjoy a welcome dinner together. Overnight in Prague. Day 3, Tuesday: Breakfast. Today we begin our sightseeing tour of Jewish interest sites with a visit to the Old City to view the Josefov, Prague's Jewish Town with its Old Town Hall, the Alt-Neu Synagogue, the Pinkas Synagogue, the Jewish Cemetery and the State Jewish Museum. Overnight Prague. Day 4, Wednesday: Breakfast. This morning we drive to Terezin, the town that became the Nazi "model" concentration camp. In the afternoon we cross the border into Austria and continue to Salzburg. Overnight Salzburg. Day 5, Thursday: Breakfast. Today we enjoy a full day tour of Salzburg, including Jewish interest sites, the Castle, and a "Sound of Music" tour. Tonight we enjoy a Mozart concert and dinner together. Overnight Salzburg. Day 6, Friday: Breakfast. We depart for Vienna, enjoying the countryside scenery on the way. We arrive in the early afternoon and begin a half-day tour of the city, including a visit to the Schonbrun Palace. This evening we enjoy a traditional Shabbat Dinner together. Overnight Vienna. Day 7, Saturday: Breakfast. Shabbat Shalom! Day at leisure. Optional morning services at a local synagogue or just relax and enjoy the day. Tonight we will have dinner together and enjoy a "Heurgen Show" including entertainment with costumed performers, operetta music and dance. Overnight Vienna. Day 8, Sunday: Breakfast. Our morning Jewish Heritage tour of Vienna includes Juden-Platz, the Jewish Community Center, and the New Jewish Museum at Palace Eskels. We have time for lunch in Stephan Platz before departing Vienna for our drive to Budapest. Overnight in Budapest. Day 9, Monday: Breakfast. We enjoy a full day tour of Budapest, including Jewish Heritage sites. We visit the Dohany Synagogue (the 2nd largest synagogue in the world), the Jewish Museum, the Jewish Cemetery, and the Raul Wallenberg memorial statue. This afternoon we see the Parliament, the Royal Palace, the Castle Hill area, Fisherman's Bastion, the Coronation Church, Hero's Square, and Gellert Hall. Overnight Budapest. Day 10, Tuesday: Breakfast. Today we enjoy a day at leisure in Budapest or an optional tour of the Artists' Colony at Szentendre, with its world famous ceramic museum. We stop for coffee and cake at one of the local cafes and return by boat to Budapest for a Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant with a Gypsy music show. Overnight in Budapest. Day 11, Wednesday: Breakfast. We transfer to the airport and our flight back to New York. The Memories Last Forever! |
